THE KNOWLEDGE HAS ALWAYS EXISTED,

BUT FEW HAVE HAD ACCESS UNTIL NOW.

For forty years, there was only one way to get a workforce trained on real Lean methodology.

You hired someone who had done it. You flew them in, paid the daily rate, and when the initial training ended, sustaining that knowledge internally became the next challenge.

Lean Horizons Academy is the answer to a problem most organizations have stopped trying to solve.

The Lean Story

MARK DELUZIO
THE LINEAGE BEHIND THE PLATFORM

Mark DeLuzio spent his career applying Lean methodology in real operational transformations.

Unlike most Lean consultants, he didn't learn the Danaher Business System from a textbook. He built it, after working directly alongside the architects of the Toyota Production System.

That lineage is a chain of knowledge that runs from the Toyota Production System to the Danaher Business System and onto the organizations Mark has led through countless Lean transformations.

Organizations invested in lean practices, and results followed. But as personnel changed, new divisions formed, and new leaders came on board, the knowledge that drove results dissipated. Without a continuous learning infrastructure in place, the methodology loses its footing.

Learning needs to be continuous, especially after the consultants have left. With dynamic changes to organizations, be it personnel, new divisions, and new leaders, training needs to be a continuous process that doesn't end. Lean Horizons Academy's e-learning platform breaks that pattern with an enduring, continuous flow of learning.

The Why

WHY WE BUILT THIS

Most Lean training programs are built on explicit (book) knowledge. Definitions, frameworks, and diagrams are fine for the academics…

They can tell you what a value stream map is, but few can tell you how to use it to achieve your strategic business imperatives. They can’t tell you what to do when the frontline associates resist change or when leadership shifts...

This tacit (hands-on know-how) knowledge has never been transferable at scale because it lives in the people who have done the work. It gets diluted every time it passes through another set of hands, and it walks out the door when personnel leave the organization.

Lean Horizons Academy was built to change that.

FAQs

QUESTIONS ABOUT
LEAN HORIZONS ACADEMY

Clear answers to help you move forward with confidence.

What is Lean Horizons Academy

Lean Horizons Academy is an enterprise Lean training platform built on the implementation experience behind the Danaher Business System and the Toyota Production System. It goes beyond available certification programs to deliver forty years of implementation experience in an on-demand, multilingual format that can be deployed across any organization, anywhere in the world.

How is this different from generic e-learning?

Generic e-learning explains what Lean is. Lean Horizons Academy transfers how Lean works in real-world scenarios, like when the front line associates push back, when leadership changes, or when the methodology is under pressure. The difference is the source: every course is built on the implementation experience of the people who architected the Danaher Business System, not on textbook definitions.

Why doesn't Lean Horizons Academy offer certifications?

Certifications often make people feel like they have mastered everything, but really, they are just scratching the surface. Lean learning is a continuous journey, not something you achieve with a certification.

Certification programs test whether someone can recall a definition under exam conditions. They do not test whether someone can implement standard work when the supervisor pushes back, run a Kaizen when leadership loses interest, or sustain a 5S program past the first 90 days.

Lean Horizons Academy is not built to give your team something to hang on the wall. It is built to transfer the knowledge that actually drives transformation. The measure of success is not a passing score. It is a workforce that operates differently.
